Think of all the issues that have hit the headlines recently. Behind every story will be an economist, delving into the details to establish the economic pros and cons.
It's important work, which is why we need people who can handle responsibility and the knowledge that they will be affecting lives nationwide.
The Government Economic Service (GES) is the UK's largest recruiter of economists with over 1,400 professionals in more than 30 departments and agencies. The GES can give you access to a wide variety of economist career options. Whichever one you choose, you will be getting to the heart of complex issues that are determining the nation's future.
Are you an ex-GES member? Are you interested in coming back to work in the GES?
If you were a permanent member of staff and have maintained your professional development as an economist, then you may be eligible for re-instatement in the GES. If you would like to discuss options please send your CV with a short note explaining why you left the GES and why you are now considering returning to: Alison.Cookson-Hall@HM-Treasury.gov.uk
